Enrollment Agreement

SKH LLC, doing business as Safe Serving, is certified by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) as a provider of Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST). Your course instructor is also certified by the LCB and available to answer questions throughout the course. In this agreement, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Safe Serving, and “you” refers to the student or class participant.

  • We are authorized to conduct the course in its entirety as certified by the LCB. 
  • We will issue MAST permits to students who successfully complete the course and pass the final exam.
  • We strive to place permits in the mail within one to two business days after course completion. For in-person training, permits may be issued the same day when possible. If a permit cannot be printed and issued at that time, it will be mailed to the student. The LCB allows up to 30 days from course completion for permit issuance. Delivery time depends on the mail system, so the date students receive their permit may vary. Students who need expedited delivery may request expedited mailing for an additional fee.
  • We will upload the permit information to the LCB portal before issuing permits to students. 
  • Class 12 permits will be issued to those 21 and older and Class 13 permits to those 18 to 20 years old.
  • A MAST permit is valid for five years. During that period, Safe Serving may replace a permit due to loss, name change, or a similar reason for a nominal fee.
  • Students who are issued a Class 13 permit because they are not yet 21 years old may request an upgrade to a Class 12 permit after turning 21. Please contact Safe Serving to request an upgrade. A nominal service fee may apply for printing and mailing.
  • Safe Serving keeps student permit information for five years, as required by the LCB, in a secure environment. Please see the Privacy Policy for more information.
  • All permits maintain the original permit expiration date whether replaced or upgraded.
  • Permits are valid for five years and expire on the first day of the month following the course completion month and day. For example, if your course completion date is July 9, 2027, your permit expires on August 1, 2032.
  • You may contact Safe Serving with questions, comments, or requests for technical assistance. We strive to respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and no later than the next business day. Response times may vary during weekends and holidays. Please contact us by email or through the contact form whenever possible. Phone support is available on a limited basis for time-sensitive questions.
  • You will be provided with a workbook as part of the course.  The workbook is yours to keep. We encourage you to take notes and use it as a reference on the job.

Before You Begin!

Before enrolling in the Safe Serving MAST course, please review the enrollment agreement carefully. By proceeding, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms, conditions, course requirements, refund policy, and permit processing information outlined below.

Note about Class Length: 

The course must include a minimum of three hours of instruction, not including the time needed to take the final exam, as required by the LCB.

Course Enrollment Agreement

Please review the following information before proceeding with your course enrollment. By continuing to registration and payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the enrollment terms, course requirements, refund policy, permit processing procedures, and responsibilities outlined below.

Provider Information

Safe Serving is an approved provider of Washington State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST). After successfully completing the course and final exam, students will receive either a Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Server Permit.  Students may print out a certificate of completion while they wait for the permit to arrive in the mail.

Student Requirements

  • Students must be at least 18 years of age to enroll in the course.
  • Registration information must match the student’s legal identification.
  • Students must provide accurate information required for permit processing.
  • Full participation in the course is required before taking the final exam.

Final Exam Requirements

  • The Final Exam is comprised of 40 multiple-choice questions. The test is available in English, Spanish, and Korean. Let your instructor know in which language you would like to take the test.
  • You must attend the entire class before you can take the Final Exam.
  • You must complete the test in one sitting and may not take any break during the exam.
  • The online final exam is closed-book. You may not use notes, course materials, outside resources, or assistance from another person while taking the exam.
  • The minimum passing score is 80%.
  • If you do not pass the online final exam, you may retake it until you receive a passing score.
  • If you need help understanding the course material or have questions about the exam process, please contact Safe Serving for assistance.

Refund Policy

  • The online course fee is $21, reflecting Washington’s legal drinking age. You may cancel your enrollment before making payment. 
  • Students are encouraged to review the enrollment agreement before completing registration and payment.
  • Once payment has been processed and course access has been provided, refunds will not be issued.
  • If you believe you registered in error or have a special circumstance, please contact Safe Serving as soon as possible.

Privacy & Personal Information

  • Personal information is collected solely for course administration and permit processing purposes.
  • Information provided during registration will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Safe Serving does not sell or share student information for marketing purposes.
  • Certain information may be required to process and report permit information as required by Washington State regulations.
  • Students who have questions regarding personal information requirements may contact Safe Serving for assistance prior to registration.

Information about Social Security Numbers

  • RCW 26.23.150 requires the LCB to obtain an SSN for each MAST permit holder to assist in child support enforcement as required by federal and state law. To issue your permit, you must provide your SSN to the course provider.
  • If you do not have an SSN due to your residency status in the United States, please inform Safe Serving. You may still complete the training and receive a MAST permit because you completed the required course and are entitled to a permit. When you obtain an SSN, please contact Safe Serving so we can notify the LCB and update your permit record.
  • If you are uncomfortable providing your SSN to Safe Serving, you may contact the LCB MAST program at (360) 664-1727 or email mast@lcb.wa.gov.
  • If you are delinquent on child support payments for six months or more, your MAST permit may be suspended by the LCB. Please contact DSHS, Division of Child Support or call 800-442-KIDS (5437).
